Where’s the most memorable place you’ve enjoyed a Glass of Bubbly?

The most memorable place I’ve enjoyed a glass of bubbly was the first London antiques fair I did in Battersea about seven years ago. I was taken under the wing by the dealers I admired and I sat having a glass of Champagne with them – an amazing experience which I will always remember.

Which is your favourite Champagne or sparkling wine?

I’m more of a red wine drinker but if I drink Champagne, I love Veuve Clicquot.

What is your favourite or most unusual Champagne related antique that you have seen?

About six years ago a local country house asked me to look at some items and we found in one of the outbuildings a collection of English, Regency, naively made glazed china wine barrel labels. A complete collection, clearly made for the house. We managed to sell the entire collection in one to a specialist decanter dealer.
