I have visited many hotels across the UK and internationally, many have merits on views, location, wine list, foods, exclusivity, price, owners and many more factors that leads to a happy stay and most certainly a good review on TripAdvisor. So, how about a hotel that can tick the appropriate boxes when you are looking for a night over stay before taking an early morning flight from Stansted airport?

Linden House The Vine, owned by Stephen and Tanya Mann, located just enough distance away not to be bothered with taking off and landing planes yet close enough that you are merely a very short drive away (especially important if, like myself, you are always running late for thing), can certainly tick a few important boxes for overnight accommodation.

• High quality rooms with extra attention to detail from plugs next to the bed (I am sure many will agree this is important for us as we do like to both charge our phones and browse in bed), slippers, dressing gowns, tea/coffee and even a fridge in each corridor with extra milk, water and ice available for guests.
• Great economical price that will suit your expenses claims!

You get the feeling that from the moment you walk in you will be in safe hands and you will delight at the quality of interior design and decor as you cosy in to your bedroom and freshen up before you head down to explore foods and drinks. A wine list is also something you can not investigate at Linden House as co-owner Tanya Mann is a respected Russian wine expert and has devised a perfect list of wines from the many thousands she has tasted – I of course took the option to try out their varied sparkling wines to include English Sparkling Wine and their house grower Champagne. Stephen Mann, professional chef, will have a very enogastronomic style menu for you to choose from.

A selection of nine boutique bedrooms are available and even the more basic ones I would put in the 10% of the better hotels I have stayed at. This venue has had a lot of money invested in to making it a warm and comfortable location to stay at if you are due an early start at Stansted airport!
