Celebrity Interview: Carol Decker
1st September 2015
Carol is an English musician, best known as the singer and front woman for the band, T’Pau.
T’Pau formed in 1986, taking their name from a Vulcan priestess of the same name in the 1960’s sci-fi series Star Trek. Their debut album Bridge of Spies was released in 1987 and from it, they had six hit singles, including the No.1 hit China in Your Hand.
Although the band split in 1991, Carol continued to sing at solo shows and 1980s nostalgia concerts. In 1997, Carol decided to resurrect T’Pau with a new line up and in 2013, she reunited with original band member and co-songwriter Ronnie Rogers for a 25th anniversary UK tour. Their latest album Pleasure & Pain is out now and Carol is currently on the Pleasure & Pain UK tour.
Glass of Bubbly Interview
Where’s the most memorable place you’ve ever enjoyed a Glass of Bubbly?
That’s a tough one, there have been many memorable glasses, but I would have to say a very special one, would be my wedding day here in Henley on Thames. We had miniature bottles of Pommery & straws to drink out of them in the Rolls Royce that took us from the ceremony to the reception. It was a lovely relaxing intimate moment for my husband Richard & I before our wedding reception, which was amazing, but exhausting! We had more Champagne there too, of course. Everybody brought some. We had Laurent-Perrier Rosé, Pommery, Bollinger, you name it.
Which is your favourite Champagne or sparkling wine?
Laurent-Perrier Rosé.
What does Champagne mean to you?
A: Success
B: Celebration
C: Romance
D: Enjoying great company
All the things above, of course, but also glamour, a real treat, fun and cheerfulness, bubbles are so optimistic.
