Hotel Arts Barcelona have launched a new series of tours, tastings and winemaking sessions for bubbly-loving visitors to Catalonia’s Penedès Region, where over 95% of all Cava is produced just an hour’s drive from the city.

The hotel’s Harvest Package includes a trip to the 40-hectare Mas Comtal organic vineyard, where guests will learn about the processes of organic viticulture and sample a selection of quality wines.  Accompanied by a Hotel Arts Barcelona Sommelier, guests also will enjoy wine tasting in the vineyard, with paired appetisers.

Guests can also get involved with collecting and pressing grapes and trimming and pruning the vines.  Once the pressed must has aged for a period of twelve months, guests will receive six special edition bottles of the Cava they’ve created, sent directly to their homes.

In the evening, guests can enjoy a special seafood menu served at the hotel’s internationally renowned two Michelin-starred restaurant, Enoteca. Designed by Catalan chef extraordinaire, Paco Perez, this exclusive menu will be paired with a selection of wines from the vineyards visited.  Visitors will learn about the wines’ provenance and the vine to table process.

The package, which also includes visits to other vineyards and two nights’ stay at the hotel, costs from €1,760 + 10% IVA per person and will be available until the end of October 2016.
