A Taste Of The Sea With A Sea Breeze Sparkling Wine
26th November 2019
It makes sense to have both the taste of the ocean on your plate and in your glass at the same time, in this article, I pair a delicious dish of Fishcakes, Butternut Squash and Spinach with a bottle of Radgonske Gorice Brut Nature 2012 from Slovenia.
Radgonske Gorice
Radgonske Gorice is located on the Slovenian/Austrian border where they have 480 ha of vineyards and they produce 4,500 000 litres of wine every year.
Over 160 years ago in 1852, Radgonske Gorice started creating Sparkling Wines in their cellars in Radgona, a town in Slovenia.
Radgonske Gorice is the oldest and largest producer of sparkling wine in Slovenia.
You can find out more about Radgonske Gorice in one of our other articles here, Slovenian Sparkling Wines – Radgonske Gorice.
Radgonske Gorice Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Hints of Yellow Stone Fruits and minerals on the Nose.”
Taste – “Citrus and a bit salty, giving that Sea Breeze taste.”
This Sparkling Wine is a Silver Medal Winner in the ‘Sea Breeze’ Category in The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2019.
Food & Fizz Pairing
Radgonske Gorice & Fishcakes with Butternut Squash and Spinach
Tasting Notes – “The combination brings out hidden flavours from this Brut Nature from Radgonske Gorice. The wine takes time to open up when paired, mid-length gives rich green fruit flavours with a zesty yellow fruit ending, a very enjoyable combination.”
