Spicing Up Your Christmas One Glass At A Time With Cavas Narveran & Jaggi
Cavas Naveran
Covering 110 hectares, Cavas Naveran is located in the centre of the Alt Penedés near Barcelona in Spain.
Annually they produce 500,000 bottles of Wine, this is split between 50% Cava and 50% other Wines.
Their cellars can hold up to one million litres of wine which is stored in stainless steel tanks and also they can store up to 500 French oak barrels.
The Cavas Naveran I’ve decided to pair with the Gin Liqueur is a Silver Hint of Spice winner in The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2019, the Perles D’Or.
Cavas Naveran Perles D’Or Tasting Notes – “Creamy, sweet aromas with a hint of white pepper. minerals, citrus and yeasty flavours.”
Jaggi Gin
Distilled in Scotland, Jaggi Gin produces premium craft Gin and Gin Liqueurs.
The Thistle is the national emblem of Scotland, and it has been an inspiration to Jaggi Gin in helping them develop their flavour.
They produce 3 different flavoured liqueurs, Raspberry, Strawberry & Vanilla and Rhubarb & Ginger, the one I’m trying here and putting in the Sparkling Cocktail is the Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur.
Jaggi Gin Liqueur Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Prominent Rhubarb aromas with hints of Ginger.”
Taste – “Sweeter Rhubarb flavours with a kick from the Ginger.”
The Cocktail
All you’ll need for this Cocktail is a bottle of Cavas Naveran Perles D’Or and Jaggi Gin Rhubard & Ginger Liqueur, I thought these would work well together because of their spicy flavours and I was right.
Pour in a shot glass of Gin Liqueur and top up with Sparkling Wine.
Cocktail Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Sweet and Creamy aromas.”
Taste – “Fizzy sweet Rhubarb flavours with a Hint of Spice that first softly hits the back of the throat and then explodes leaving a spicy aftertaste.”
