5 Rosé Champagnes
18th August 2021
A glass of Champagne, sir?
Why, yes, thank you very much!
Oh, waiter, I think there’s something wrong with this Champagne
How so, sir?
It’s pink
It’s meant to be sir, it’s Rosé Champagne
Rosé Champagne, Rosé Champagne, Rosé Champagne, is it just me or does anybody else like saying that.
Rosé has been making its mark across the world, from Cavas, Champagnes, English Fizz and most recently Prosecco, it’s produced all across the world and so it should be, as a lot of the world is drinking it. One way of making it is by leaving red skinned grapes in contact with the grape juice, but not for too long, as then it would turn into red wine, so a short contact with the grape juice and then they are separated, the grape juice then continues down its normal course and finally makes its way to you, you get different shades of Rosé’s because of how long the red grape skin stays on contact with the juice the longer the darker the Rosé.
But you didn’t come here for a Rosé lesson, you came to decide which Rosé Champagne you’ll buy next, so let’s get into it.
1 Champagne Roger Brun

Champagne Faniel et Fils is one of those wineries set in a picture-perfect French environment, when I visited the winery and met Mathieu Faniel the owner and head winemaker, the day could not have been more perfect, the sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky, Mathieu was beyond kind and welcoming, his winery looked like a set from a film, it is filled with history and great Champagne. You can see for yourself what I’m talking about by checking out A Trip To Champagne Faniel & Fils by me or A visit to Champagne Faniel & Fils by Christopher Walkey
Mathieu is the third generation to work at the Champagne house, he joined in 2008 and has helped expand the name and reach of his Champagnes across the world, Champagne Faniel & Fils all began after World War II when Mathieu’s grandfather André Faniel founded the company, back then it was just called Faniel, it was after André’s son Jacques Faniel and his wife Brigitte had their sons Romain and Mathieu that Jacques officially changed the name to Faniel & Fils.
