Mystical Unicorn Fizz Cocktail
2nd March 2020
Sometimes you just want to escape to a land full of candy floss and marshmallows… no? just me?
Well, whether you do or don’t, this Cocktail will definitely give that sensation either way.
Mystical Unicorn Gin Liqueur
This Gin Liqueur from The Infusionist is available from Aldi for only £9.99, I’ve never tasted anything like this in the form of a Gin Liqueur before, so if this sounds like something you might like, I’d recommend giving it a try, I find it very well priced.
Tasting Notes – “Candy floss, marshmallows and candy.”
“Be sure to shake the bottle to awake the mysteries contained within” – Aldi
The Sparkling Wine – Badagoni
Badagoni is located in Georgia, they started out not too long ago in 2006, but they have achieved a lot in that time, Badagoni states that they have ‘the most advanced winery in the whole Eastern Europe.’
They use only Georgian grape varieties to create their award winning Sparkling Wines, they also have their own vineyards in every micro-zone of the Kakheti region in Georgia.
Badagoni matures their wines in French oak barrels which are located in a wine cellar clad with Georgian bricks dating back over 300 years.
Badagoni – Maestro Semi Dry Tasting Notes – “Green apple aromas. Clean fresh green fruit flavours.”
This Sparkling Wine from Georgia won a Bronze Medal in the Dessert Category at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2019.
How To Make A Mystical Unicorn Cocktail
I used mini marshmallows for my garnish, but if you don’t like marshmallows or can’t eat them, then I’d recommend candy floss or any other sweets you like, just experiment, you could find a new delicious combination.
Ingredients
- Mystical Unicorn Gin Liqueur
- Sparkling Wine
- Mini Marshmallows
- (Optional – Big Marshmallows, Candy Floss, or any sweets you love)
How To Make A Mystical Unicorn Cocktail
1. Pour in 30mls of Mystical Unicorn Gin Liqueur
2. Pour in 180mls of Sparkling Wine or just top up.
3. Add in your mini marshmallows, candy floss or delicious sweets for your garnish.
Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Sweet vanilla candy and marshmallows.”
Taste – “A nice balance of sweetness that is toned down mid-length with a touch of dryness, certainly a fizz cocktail for marshmallow fans.”
Sound – “I don’t normally comment on the sound, because there’s nothing to comment on, but once I added in the marshmallows, I could hear a little popping sound, just like when you add milk to a bowl of Rice Krispies.”
Final Thoughts – This cocktail isn’t as sweet as it looks, you could definitely end up having another glass afterwards (or two). Adding the Mystical Unicorn into a glass with some bubbly only helped deliver the candy flavours with a little fizz from the bubbles.
If you ever decide to escape to a world of candy floss and marshmallows then you’ll want this cocktail in your hand when you do.
