The Can Sala Cava is made in the original historic cellar of the Ferrer Sala family, where the Freixenet brand was born. This is a grand reserve cava made with the grapes from the plots of land of the estate. Always millésime, this Cava is only made with large harvests.

A relaxing morning was spent in the hands of one of Freixenet’s most important houses with Jep Bargalló Torres showcasing where the history all began for this world famous brand and importantly where you can also find some of its magnificent Cava. Can Sala really sees history and tradition in action from the 150 year old Champagne press that is still in use for harvesting that is still manually exercised – the Xarel·lo and Parellada varietals of this Cava come from carefully selected vines from the family estate of Sant Quintí de Mediona.

Can Sala 2007: “Light golden colour with fine perlage. Subtle citrus, yellow apple and pastry / vanilla aromas. Enjoyable acidity giving a crisp and refreshing taste sensation along with fine and delicate ripe fruity, vanilla and pastry flavours.

Cuvée de Prestige 2005: “A pastry and dried yellow stone fruit, meaty nose. Citrus and dry flavours fading into light yellow fruit flavours.
