Crémant is French sparkling wine made outside the Champagne region, but still using the traditional method or ‘méthode champenoise’. There are 8 appellations around France:
- Crémant d’Alsace (49%)
- Crémant de Bourgogne (20%)
- Crémant de Loire (18%)
- Crémant de Limoux (6%)
- Crémant du Jura (5%)
- Crémant de Bordeaux (2%)
- Crémant de Die
- Crémant de Savoie.

Roche Lacour Crémant de Limoux 2013 – £12.99
A great alternative to Champagne, this fantastic fizz was an instant hit upon its release two decades ago.
Mayerling Brut Cremant d’Alsace – £10.95
Superbly crafted wine will satisfy time and time again. Gently aromatic with nutty mineral hints, dry fruity taste with a touch of honey.

A very affordable bottle of bubbly.
Calvet Cremant De Bordeaux Brut 2013 – £8.98 at Asda
This wine is produced in the heart of the Entre Deux Mers region in Bordeaux, from grapes grown on the famous clay-chalk slopes.
Cuvée Royale Brut Crémant de Limoux NV – £11.99 at Waitrose
A light and fruity fizz perfect with seafood or pre-dinner drink.
Langlois Crémant de Loire Brut NV – £14.99 at Majestic
Langlois is owned by Champagne house Bollinger. This high quality crémant is made mostly from grapes typical to the Loire.
Côté Mas Crémant de Limoux Rosé Brut
Made in the sunny south of France by the Paul Mas Estate, this lovely pink rosé is 70% Chardonnay, 20% Chenin Blanc, 10% Pinot Noir. It’s delicate fruity flavours make it the perfect everyday luxury.
Monge Granon Crémant de Die Brut
With notes of fresh almonds and white flowers this Crémant is perfect as an apéritif, on its own or in a kir cocktail, it can also be enjoyed with fish or white meats.
Domaine la Croix Montjoie Crémant de Bourgogne Brut
Predominantly made from Chardonnay, with a proportion of pinot noir, gamay and aligoté. With a lovely aroma of white flowers.
