Freixenet in Talks of Buyout

Freixenet, a family-owned business based in Catalonia, Spain and the biggest producer of Cava has resumed talks with German group Henkell, who were looking to buy into the business a couple of weeks ago. Negotiations had to be postponed due to a death in the family of the board of directors.
There are unconfirmed reports suggesting a figure of around €500 million, would give Henkell over 43.5% ownership of Freixenet. At the moment, the Catalonian business is managed by three family branches: José Ferrer Sala and his four sons, the Hevia Ferrer brothers and the Bonet Ferrer
