First Date Burgers – Champagne or Prosecco?
28th April 2021
When you go on a first date, where do you go, what do you do, what do you talk about, there are a lot of questions that could be bouncing around your head, sometimes you just need to take a step back, take a deep breath and be yourself.
On a First Date we want to come across as kind, confident and interesting, we want the other person to like us, but we don’t always come across as our real selves because we get nervous, our anxiety builds up and we stress too much over the little things.
This article is about should you enjoy Champagne or Prosecco with your burger, but it’s good to head into your first date with a little advice. You’ll have heard this one before, but it’s one you should listen to, Be True To Yourself, be yourself because that’s the person they need to fall in love with, also don’t blow through all your topics of conversation over Snapchat or texting, save as much as you can to speak about in person and prepare some topics and questions to ask beforehand if you feel nervous about the conversation part.
I always struggle with the conversation part on dates, a tip is to really listen to what the other person is saying, ask relevant questions about the topic you are on, if for example, they mentioned they have a dog, find out the name, how long they’ve had it, do they have any other pets, do they want any more pets? But don’t just ask questions, it’s not an interview, if you have a dog or any other pets, then start talking about them, let them get to know you.
The older you get, the more you learn and get to experience, so the less nerve-racking the whole experience will be, you’ll have more fun, and that’s the whole point, to enjoy yourself, help the other person have a good time and to get to know each other.
Champagne Vollereaux

I also got to visit Champagne Vollereaux, you can see some more of what Vollereaux has to offer on our Trip To Champagne Vollereaux or get a quick Introduction to Champagne Vollereaux.

First Date Burgers – Champagne or Prosecco?
Champagne and Prosecco, the classic method and the Charmat method, two different bottles, two different methods and two different tastes, I’m not sure if I could have picked two different bottles, the Champagne is a Brut Nature which means no added sugar so it’s on the dryer side and the Prosecco is an Extra Dry which means the wine is on the sweet side, so pairing them with the Burgers will be an interesting one, let’s find out which one works best and which one sounds best to you.
Burger & Champagne Tasting Notes – “The Champagne creates a crisp brioche and burger combination, in the length, it also boosts the tomato flavour, the Champagne gives the whole meal a more elegant touch, with a yeasty and citrus introduction.”
Burger & Prosecco Tasting Notes – “The burger is struck with love, covered in fruity flavours from the Prosecco, clean burger and fruity flavours make this a match made in heaven.”
Both the Champagne and Prosecco work well with the burger, but when it comes down to the question which is best for a First Date, out of these two, I would have to say both, wait, hear me out, when you think of a first date you think of two love-struck teenagers, but what about the older generation in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
The Results
The Casa Gheller Prosecco is perfect for a Young First Date, the burger is struck with love from the fruity flavours of the Prosecco and the burger embraces them creating a wonderful combination for a First Date.
The Champagne Vollereaux is perfect for an Older Generation First Date, it adds a Classic and Elegant presence to the Burger enhancing the Burger and Brioche flavours and adding in a little Zesty and Zingy taste.
There you have it, both these Sparkling Wines are perfect for a First Date with a Burger, whether you order a bottle of Champagne or Prosecco on your First, Second or Third Date, be yourself and have a good time.
