Summer Trifle Prosecco Cocktail

Who doesn’t love a Summer Trifle, a combination of delicious strawberries and cream, YUM!, and who here wants to be able to enjoy the beautiful flavours in a glass with some bubbly Sparkling Wine?

The Infusionist is known for putting some great flavours into their liqueurs and sometimes going over and above in creating some limited releases like this one, the Summer Trifle Gin Liqueur.

The Summer Trifle Prosecco Cocktails

The Infusionist

To capture the delicate sweet flavours of a Summer Trifle in one drink seems like an impossible task, I’ll give it a try and see if that’s what you get as well as noting if it really tastes like a Summer Trifle. Both these cocktails will be utilising this gin liqueur.

The Infusionist Summer Trifle Gin Liqueur is available at Aldi right here.

Tasting Notes

Aroma – “A very sugary strawberry and cream aroma.”

Flavour – “A candy sweet strawberry and cream flavour, almost like strawberry sherbert.”

Nothing beats the real thing, but as a drink, this doesn’t do a bad job, it tastes a little processed sugar sweet, but’s its summer berry sweet with a creaminess which you can see as a summer trifle.

Riccardo Summer Trifle Cocktail

Their story begins with the grandfather Giuseppe, a veteran from the First World War, upon his return from 1918 to 1950 he and his children produced and sold wines, then in the 1960s, his eldest son who was born in 1915 gave the opportunity for his three children to carry on the winemaking trade, with this giving way to the name RICCARDO, named in memory of the father.

One interesting thing to note, for National Meatball Day, I created a Meatball Sub and paired this Prosecco from Riccardo with it and the results were absolutely heavenly: Meatball Sub & Prosecco

On a bottle of Prosecco, Champagne, or Sparkling Wine, Dry = Sweet, and Extra Dry = Extra Sweet, meaning extra sugar and a more dessert-like taste, it’s the opposite of what you would be expecting when you read dry.
